I am putting my old site to rest. I first used matthewortega.design as an experiment in attracting new roles of where I wanted my design career to go. “Show the work you want to get”. Having finished my recent work at Unity, I look back and see that it no longer reflects my work. It has been with me for a while, but having not updated it in a few years, busy with new work in spatial design, design engineering and managing design systems, it is time to give it a refresh.
Building a website can sometimes be a reflection of where you are at a certain point. Through my journey, I’ve experimented with various tools to create them. I’ve found it important that whatever tool I use from now on has the ability to archive these reflections. This repository of past endeavors serves as both a reminder of my journey and a foundation upon which to build further. It’s fascinating to delve into this archive, each project a timestamp of a particular phase in my creative journey.
